Wilbur Heflin (retired)

I was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia and lived my first 5 years in Richardsville, Virginia before moving to Remington, Virginia. I spent my entire youth in Remington and graduated from Warrenton High School. I studied pharmacy at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming and received a BS in Pharmacy in 1961. A brief stent in graduate school at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington led to the purchase of Hodgins Drug Store in Moscow, Idaho which my partner and I had for 10 years. After selling my interest in 1971, I returned to Remington to purchase and operate the Remington Drug Store which was owned by E. H. Ashby, Sr. (my great-uncle). I have operated the pharmacy for the last 43 years. At various times in my career, I have been a Fauquier County Supervisor, a member of the Board of Fauquier Health, Mayor of Remington and have served on numerous public committees and belonged to a number of public organizations. I am married and have 4 grown children.
